In recent years, many people have looked for clarity on where different churches stand regarding LGBTQ+ issues. The division within the United Methodist Church has caused some to wonder: Are there still conservative Methodist churches that hold to biblical teaching on marriage and sexuality while also loving all people?

If you are searching for a conservative Methodist church in Oklahoma City that upholds traditional biblical values and treats every individual with love and respect, we want to provide clear answers about our beliefs.

What We Believe About Human Sexuality

As part of the Bible Methodist Connection of Churches, our church believes that God has ordained marriage as a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6). Scripture teaches that sexual intimacy is designed for marriage alone. Any sexual activity outside of biblical marriage—including fornication, adultery, and homosexual relationships—is considered sinful.

This belief is not based on personal preference or cultural tradition, but on the consistent teaching of Scripture. The Bible is clear in passages such as Romans 1:26-27, 1 Corinthians 6:9-11, and Leviticus 18:22 that homosexual behavior is contrary to God’s design. However, these passages also affirm that all people are sinners in need of God’s grace (Romans 3:23), and that forgiveness and transformation are available through Jesus Christ.

Do We Treat LGBTQ+ People With Respect?

Absolutely. Every human being is made in the image of God (Genesis 1:27) and is worthy of dignity and respect. Our church does not endorse hatred, cruelty, or discrimination against anyone, including those who identify as LGBTQ+.

At the same time, loving people does not mean affirming every choice or belief. Jesus both extended love and called people to repentance (John 8:11). True love does not ignore sin but calls people to the transforming power of the Gospel. We welcome everyone who is seeking God’s truth, but we will always uphold the biblical standard of holiness.

Do We Ordain LGBTQ+ Pastors?

Our church and the Bible Methodist Connection do not ordain practicing homosexuals or those who reject biblical teachings on sexuality. Those who openly engage in sexual sin—whether heterosexual or homosexual—are not eligible for church leadership or membership. Additionally, our ministers do not perform same-sex weddings, as we believe marriage is a sacred institution established by God between a man and a woman.

This is not about singling out one sin above others, but about holding leaders in the church to a biblical standard of holiness and integrity (1 Timothy 3:1-7).

Can Any Sinner Be Transformed?

Yes! The heart of the Gospel is that Jesus Christ transforms lives. We believe that God’s grace is powerful enough to overcome any temptation and any sin (1 Corinthians 10:13). Just as people can experience victory over anger, addiction, or sexual sin, those struggling with same-sex attraction or gender confusion can find hope and renewal in Christ.

The Bible offers both forgiveness and freedom to all who repent and turn to Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17). The church exists to help people walk in obedience to God’s design—not to condemn them, but to point them to the redemption found in Jesus.

Looking for a Conservative Methodist Church in Oklahoma City?

If you are seeking a church in South OKC that:
✔ Stands for biblical truth
✔ Extends grace and love to all people
✔ Offers hope and transformation through Christ

Then we invite you to join us this Sunday. Whether you are looking for a place to grow in your faith or simply seeking answers, we welcome you to come and hear the Good News of Jesus!

We think it's the best news in all the world... the Gospel that changes sinners into saints!

Many churches in Oklahoma City have moved away from Sunday evening services, and if you're feeling disappointed by that change, you're not alone.

But here’s the good news: we still have Sunday night services at OKC Bible Methodist Church—and we’d love for you to come!

Why Do We Still Have Sunday Night Church?

For many, Sunday night services were a formative part of their Christian life—another opportunity to worship, hear the Word, and gather as the body of Christ. While many churches have moved away from the tradition, we believe there’s still value in setting aside Sunday evening for worship. Here’s why:

A Second Touch of Encouragement – Life can be tough, and Sundays should be a day of refreshment in the Lord. A second service gives us another chance to worship and hear God's Word before we start the week.

A Time for Traditional Worship – If you love hymns and traditional church music, you’ll feel right at home. Our Sunday night service features classic songs of the faith, bringing a sense of deep heritage and meaning.

An Intimate, Family-Like Atmosphere – Sunday nights tend to be a bit more relaxed, giving time for deeper discussion, prayer, and connection. It’s a great time to grow together as a church family.

A Commitment to Keeping the Lord’s Day Holy – Setting aside extra time for worship isn’t a burden—it’s a joy!
