A comment about our beliefs:
In essential beliefs —
we have UNITY.
Some things are not up for debate. They have been settled in the Christian faith since the earliest days. Jesus is God, he really lived, died, rose again, the Bible is true, and more. (For what we believe about LGBTQ+ issues, see bottom of the page.)
In non-essential beliefs —
we have LIBERTY.
We won’t tell you what political party to belong to, what kind of food to eat, how to be baptized... etc. If it’s not based on the Bible, we try to stay out of it, and leave it to each person. That’s the liberty of a child of God!
In all our beliefs —
we show LOVE.
In everything we do, the love of Jesus should be our goal. To those who agree, we show love. To those who disagree... we show love.
Bible Methodist Church Core Beliefs
About God
God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three personalities: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God.
About Jesus
Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is co-equal with the Father. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born as a man of the Virgin Mary. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on the cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven’s glory to sit at the right hand of God the Father, to continually pray for those who follow Him. He will return again someday to earth to reign as King of Kings, and Lord of Lords.
About the Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son of God. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. He gives every believer a spiritual gift when they are saved. He also is the “Sanctifier” (the one who makes us holy) as discussed under “Entire Sanctification” below. As Christians, we seek to live under His control daily.
About the Bible
The Bible is God's Word to us. It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth and final authority for Christian beliefs and living. Because it is inspired by God, it is the truth without any mixture of error.
About Human Beings
Jesus Christ came to reconcile us with God. He lived a life without sin and willingly died on the cross to pay the penalty for our transgressions. God raised him from the dead and now, by grace, offers as a free gift eternal life to all who follow Christ, by faith, as their Lord and Savior. That is why salvation can be found in Christ alone.
About Salvation
Salvation is by grace alone, through Christ alone, by faith alone. God’s grace comes before our salvation, and teaches us that we are sinners (conviction), and makes us able to respond to Jesus in faith. Salvation is God’s free gift to us. We can never make up for our sin by self improvement or good works, but only by faith in Jesus’ finished work for us on the cross. When we turn from our sin (repentance) and turn to Jesus in faith we are saved in a single moment. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his life by faith. However, we can reject God’s free gift of salvation even after receiving it by rejecting faith in Jesus Christ and the command to follow Jesus. So it is necessary to maintain by God’s power, our faith in Jesus (demonstrated by obedience to Jesus' commands) in order to continue to live in God’s gift of salvation.
About Entire Sanctification
All humans have been born with a “sinful nature,” an attitude of disobedience toward God. It is not forgiven in Salvation, since it was not an act of sin. But through the power of the Holy Spirit, God has provided a way for this pre-disposition toward sin to be cleansed from our heart. This “second work” of God’s grace takes place after the New Birth and is called “entire sanctification.” (1 Thes. 5:23-24) It happens when a believer surrenders his life completely to God as a “living sacrifice” (Rom . 12:1 ) and believes that God will cleanse this attitude of disobedience (sinful nature) from his heart by filling us with His Holy Spirit. Entire sanctification enables us to love God will all our heart, and to walk in His commandments with greater victory over sin, and to serve Him with greater power and effectiveness in this world.
About Eternity, Heaven & Hell
Humans were created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation. At the end of the age, all those who are unrighteous will be raised again to judgment and separated from God eternally in a lake of fire called Hell. Jesus will usher in his completed Kingdom, and those who are righteous through faith in Jesus will be raised to reign eternally with Him in a renewed, restored planet Earth.

What we believe about LGBTQ+ issues:
We realize that the conflict in the United Methodist Church in recent years over issues of homosexuality, gay marriage, and ordination of practicing homosexuals has caused difficulty for those who are looking for a conservative Methodist Church that loves people, but holds to a conservative position on these issues. If you're looking for a conservative Methodist Church in the Oklahoma City area, you've found one. Here you can find our position on these issues:
Bible Methodist Beliefs on Human Sexuality
The Bible Methodist Connection of Churches upholds the biblical teaching that God has ordained marriage as a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman. Sexual relationships are to be reserved for marriage, and any sexual activity outside of this context—including fornication, adultery, and homosexual relationships—is considered sinful according to Scripture.
Do we treat LGBTQ+ people with respect?
We affirm that all people are created in the image of God and are to be treated with love and respect. However, we believe that the practice of homosexuality, transgenderism, and other expressions of sexual identity contrary to God's design are inconsistent with Christian holiness.
Does our church ordain LGBTQ pastors?
Bible Methodist churches do not ordain practicing homosexuals or those who reject biblical teachings on sexuality, and individuals openly engaging in such practices are ineligible for church membership or leadership roles. Our ministers are not permitted to solemnize same-sex unions.
Do we believe that any sinner can change?
While we uphold the biblical standard of sexual purity, we extend the hope of transformation through Jesus Christ to all who seek His grace and truth. We believe that any temptation can be overcome, and any sin can be conquered by the grace of God.
